Where Math Picnic is genuinely different

One path: set the level, watch the real paper, swap a question, print it or answer it on screen, retry what went wrong, reopen the exact sheet from the code along the bottom. The code carries what you did — the level, the spread, the question you swapped — not just what the generator did.

But some generators have a seed too

One of the five does, and a good one — two collapsed layers down, behind a switch with no label that starts off. Leave it off and your number is discarded without a word.

And a seed only promises the same sheet, not a good one. On the sheet we reproduced, questions 5 and 10 were identical. A picnic basket code returns the sheet and deals fairly: no repeat in 444 checked.

Same engine behind all five, so the skill a child plays is the skill that prints — the same questions, not a matching topic.

Everything else it does

Live paper preview: The real sheet redraws as you change it. The preview is the paper, not a picture of it.
No question twice: A fair draw across the pool. None repeated in 444 sheets checked.
Answer key: Optional, and always its own page, so the child is not holding it.
Tracing sheets: Numbers 1–10, 1–20 and 1–100, strokes, shapes, symbols.
34 reference charts: Times tables, place value, fractions. Nothing to set up.
Print, PDF, images: 300 DPI, Letter or A4, upright or turned.
No third-party code: No ads, no trackers, no cookies, no visitor id. Saved sheets stay in your browser.

How this was tested

Five free worksheet sites were opened and used in a browser on 3 August 2026: two libraries of fixed PDFs and three generators. The columns group them by how they work, because a column standing for one named site would be wrong the week it changed.

Recovery — make a sheet, change it, then try to get the first one back using only what the site offers.
Preview against print — download the PDF and compare it with the on-screen preview, row by row.
Repeats — compare every question on a sheet with every other. Ours was checked the same way across 444 sheets covering every type.
Scripts and ads — counted in the browser on one page of each site.

Not tested means not measured, and nothing is claimed. A dash means it was looked for and was not there on the path tested.
