How to use a picnic basket
A picnic basket is the worksheet code printed at the bottom of every Math Picnic sheet. It packs the setup and exact questions together so another caregiver or device can open the same worksheet.
Open or reprint a worksheet
Three quick steps
- Find the basketUse the code printed at the bottom of a worksheet, or select Share in the maker's toolbar and copy the code there.
- Paste the basketUse Open worksheet on the Math Picnic homepage, or open Picnic basket & magic word in any maker and paste the code into the Picnic basket field. Math Picnic takes you to the correct category automatically.
- Print the same sheetThe worksheet type, settings, theme, and exact questions return. Select Save as PDF or Print when you are ready.
Name it, refresh it
What about the magic word?
Every worksheet also has a magic word — the short word in the maker that names your sheet. The same word with the same settings always makes the same questions, so a word like emma-week3 is an easy way to name a sheet and make it again on this device.
Ready for more practice? Keep your settings and select New set of questions — that rolls a new magic word, so you get a fresh set at the same level. The picnic basket already packs your magic word and settings together — use the basket whenever you want the exact sheet on another device.
Practice only what needs work
Turn missed questions into a short retry sheet
Open the original basket, select Redo missed problems, then tap the problem numbers your child missed. Select Make retry sheet when the list is right.
Each selected problem returns with two similar practice questions, so the child rehearses the same skill instead of repeating an entire worksheet.

Good to know
The code contains worksheet choices and a question seed. A basket made by answering a sheet on screen also records which problems need another go. The code stays anonymous, and answers remain on the device where they were entered.
