3rd grade math worksheets

Third grade is the times tables year. These free printable worksheets take a child from the three tables they already have to all ten, one table at a time, and then turn each one around into division.

What this year is really about

The year's demand is genuinely large: every fact through 10 × 10, recalled rather than worked out, by the end of the year. Meeting that with a single mixed sheet a week does not work, because a mixed page lets a child spend their attention on the facts they already own. One table at a time is slower to start and far faster to finish, which is why every multiplication sheet here can be locked to a single factor.

Order matters more than most schedules admit. The 2s, 5s, and 10s come almost free and are usually done by the end of grade 2. The 3s are the first table that has to be learned rather than noticed. After that the 4s are the 2s doubled, the 6s are the 5s plus one group, the 8s are the 4s doubled, and the 9s are the 10s minus one group — so only the 7s are left without a strategy, and by then commutativity has already handed a child most of that row.

Division should not wait until multiplication is finished. Every fact family works in both directions, and a child who practices 6 × 7 = 42 alongside 42 ÷ 6 = 7 in the same week learns one idea instead of two. The division sheets here stay inside the same facts, with whole-number answers and no remainders, for exactly that reason.

Two-digit written arithmetic still needs maintenance this year. Carrying and borrowing were grade 2's landmark, but they decay quietly while the attention is on tables, and the slips show up later as errors a child cannot explain.

Step 1 of 3

Warm up from grade 2

The three tables that come almost free, and should already be quick.

Step 2 of 3

Core grade 3 tables

The rest of the grid, in the order that makes each one easier than the last.

Step 3 of 3

Division and written work

Each table read backwards, plus the column arithmetic that must not rust.

Yours to change

Adjust any sheet to your child

If a sheet is too easy or too hard, change its level rather than its grade. Every worksheet prints with an answer key and a picnic basket code that reopens the exact same questions later.
