What's on this sheet
The strategy is to split every twelve into a ten and a two. 12 × 7 is 10 × 7 = 70 plus 2 × 7 = 14, which add to 84. Both halves come from tables a child already owns cold, so no twelve fact ever has to be memorised on its own — it is always built from two facts that are already automatic.
Why this sheet works
That single move handles the hardest facts on the page. 12 × 8 is 80 plus 16 = 96; 12 × 12 is 120 plus 24 = 144. Written out this way, the biggest fact in the traditional grid, 12 × 12, turns into two additions a grade-3 child can do in their head.
