What's on this sheet
A single-table page lets a child count up without really knowing the facts; a mixed page does not. When 8 × 12, 6 × 7, and 9 × 4 arrive one after another with no run to lean on, the only thing that answers them is genuine recall. That is exactly the skill fluency means, and it is why this sheet is the honest test of the tables.
Why this sheet works
The fluency goal is 10 × 10 by the end of grade 3, and the elevens and twelves are the traditional extension beyond that core grid. This page includes them, so it suits a child in grade 3 or 4 who has the core facts and is reaching for the full 12 × 12.
How this one works
One question from this sheet, worked through a step at a time.

- 3 × 5 means 3 groups with 5 in each one — 3 rows of 5. The answer counts everything in all of them, not one row.
- That is 3 lots of 5, added up: 5 + 5 + 5 = 15. The × sign is short for exactly that sum.
- So 3 × 5 = 15.
