Privacy, in plain words
No advertising cookies, accounts, or visitor profiles. Our analytics contains no name, IP address, or persistent identifier. Here is exactly what the site stores.
What we collect
Why: to understand which kinds of questions we can help with, and which ones people actually come for.
- Which page was opened.
- The type of questions — "a subtraction sheet within 20" — and whether a sheet was made, printed, saved, shared or reopened, a worked explanation was opened or completed, or a basket action such as opening, sharing, deleting, importing or transferring was used.
- When a practice round is handed in, how many were right out of how many.
- A two-letter country code, and the time.
What we never collect
- Which questions were generated. Worksheet settings are recorded without the seed, and the seed is what picks them.
- Any answer a child writes — on paper or on screen — or which questions they were.
- The picnic basket code itself.
- Anything that could tell us who you are: no account, no cookie, no device id, no browser fingerprint, no advertising profile, no third-party analytics. Your IP address reaches our server the way it reaches every website, and we do not store it — only the country it implies. Nothing we keep can be joined to anything else we keep, so we cannot tell whether two records came from the same family, the same day, or the same person.
What stays on your device
Your browser uses local storage to remember your last picnic basket and magic word, plus any baskets you save or print, which you can read and empty at any time on your saved baskets page. A saved basket is a worksheet code and the day you kept it — nothing about a child.
While a sheet is being answered on screen, those answers are kept in your browser too, so a reload does not make a child start over. Only the sheet in progress is kept: handing it in erases it, and starting another sheet replaces it. Answers are never uploaded and never reach our analytics.
None of this is included in analytics, none of it leaves your device, and all of it disappears when you clear this site's browser data.
The plumbing
Cloudflare processes connection details such as IP addresses to deliver pages and limit abusive traffic. We do not store those addresses in our analytics database.
If this ever changes
If a future feature collects personal information, we will update this page and explain the change plainly before it launches.
