What's on this sheet
The whole system is built from letters — I, V, X, L, C for everything up to 100 — combined by two rules: letters add up when they go large to small (LXVI is 50 + 10 + 5 + 1 = 66), and a smaller letter before a larger one subtracts (IX is one less than ten, 9; XL is ten less than fifty, 40). Once a child sees those two moves, every numeral to 100 comes apart cleanly.
Why this sheet works
Sheets come in both directions. Writing a number as a numeral (66 → LXVI) makes a child build it; reading a numeral back to a number (LXVI → 66) makes them take it apart. Practicing both is what turns recognition into fluency, and the range stops at 100 so the numerals stay short enough to reason through rather than memorize.
