What's on this sheet
The two blanks pull in opposite directions and neither is solved by dividing the numbers you can see. Finding the missing divisor in 33 ÷ __ = 11 asks how many elevens make thirty-three. Finding the missing dividend in __ ÷ 3 = 11 asks what three elevens come to. Both are multiplications, of different pairs.
Why this sheet works
That is what makes the page worth doing once plain division facts are secure. A child who has only ever met 24 ÷ 6 = __ can get through those on recall alone; a gap somewhere else in the sentence makes them say what the fact actually means.
