Count what is there. Circle the word that fits.
Chance starts with three words. These free printable worksheets show a bag with four to six shapes in it and ask about picking one without looking. Count what is there, then circle impossible, possible or certain. An answer key is included.

The answer key prints on a separate page.
The three words come straight out of the picture. If the bag holds no circles, picking a circle is impossible. If every shape in the bag is a square, picking a square is certain. If there is at least one circle among other shapes, picking a circle is possible, and it stays possible with one circle or with four.

It is not, because that one circle could come out. The numbers are small on purpose, so the page is about what the words mean and not about counting. The maker can also draw each question as a spinner.
