Cube numbers, step by step

A cube number is what you get by multiplying a number by itself three times.

The question

12³

12³
12³=12 × 12 × 12
12³=12 × 12 × 12
12 × 12 × 12=1728
  1. The small number is a COUNT, not something to multiply by. 12³ does not mean 12 × 3 — it means how many 12s to multiply together.
  2. So write it out: 3 12s multiplied together — 12 × 12 × 12.
  3. Now it is just multiplying: 12 × 12 × 12 = 1728.

How it works.
