The one mistake this standard is about is using a slant side as the height, so the figures never label a slant side at all. The height is dashed and carries a right-angle mark where it meets the base, which is a picture that answers "which number is h?" honestly rather than leaving it to be guessed.
A parallelogram uses exactly the arithmetic its rectangle would, which is the whole reason it is taught this way — and exactly why a child who measures the slant edge gets a number that is too big. Mixing the four figures on one sheet is the hardest setting, because deciding which formula applies comes before applying it.
