What's on this sheet
The letter F is the standard picture and it earns its place: the two angles sit inside the arms of an F, in the same corner of each crossing. Once a child can find the F in a diagram — including upside down and back to front, which is most of them — the answer is a reading rather than a calculation.
Why this sheet works
Why they are equal is worth one sentence. Sliding the whole crossing along the transversal onto the other parallel line lands one angle exactly on the other, and that only works because the lines never converge. A child who has heard that once treats the parallel marks on the diagram as part of the reason rather than decoration.

- Start with the arrows: they say the two lines are parallel. Without that, none of the angle facts apply and this picture would not have an answer.
- Now find where the two marked angles sit. They are in the same corner at each crossing — both above their line and both on the same side of the slanted one. That makes them corresponding angles.
- Corresponding angles are equal, so x is the same as the angle already marked. x = 140°. Nothing to work out — but only once you have seen which pair it is.
