What's on this sheet

Four words under each figure, one of them right, and the other three drawn from the same set. That matters more than it sounds: a hexagon offered against “rhombus, trapezoid, kite” can be answered by counting to six without reading the words at all, and a sheet that can be finished that way has taught nothing. The distractors here are always shapes a child could genuinely mistake the figure for.

Why this sheet works

The names are alphabetical, so where the right one sits tells you nothing. A sheet whose answer is always first is answerable with the page face down, and children find that pattern long before an adult notices it is there.
