What's on this sheet
The whole relationship is halve-or-double. If the base is given, the midsegment is half of it; if the midsegment is given, the base is twice it. Half of these sheets go each way, because doubling to find the base is the direction a child forgets — it is easy to halve on autopilot and hand back the number that was already there.
Why this sheet works
The little dashes are the point of the figure. Two ticks on one side and one on the other say the segment starts and ends at the midpoints, which is the condition that makes it a midsegment at all — move an endpoint off the midpoint and the halving stops being true.

- A midsegment joins the midpoints of two sides, and it is half the length of the third side — so the base is always twice the midsegment.
- The midsegment is 11 cm, so the base is twice it: 11 × 2 = 22.
