What's on this test

This one is not a unit test. It is the paper for the start of a term, or the week after a holiday: quick facts, something harder, and a few word problems, chosen to be far enough apart that the answers do not prop each other up.

How the paper is put together

Read it as three separate signals rather than a score. Facts that have gone rusty come back in days; a multiplication method that has gone means re-teaching; word problems that stall while the computation is fine is a reading question. One number out of eighteen would hide all three.
