What's on this sheet
This is the trapezoid cut from the mixed perimeter page. Unlike the parallelogram beside it, it offers no pairing to lean on — the two parallel sides are different lengths and the two slant sides usually are too, so every one of the four numbers has to be read and added.
Why this sheet works
Every edge carries its number, including both slanted sides, and the figure is built from those lengths so it is drawn as exactly the trapezoid described. A child checking the answer against the picture is doing something the drawing supports.

- Perimeter is the distance round the OUTSIDE — the length of the fence, not the size of the field. That is the whole difference between this and area, and it is where the usual wrong answer comes from.
- So there is nothing to work out — just walk round the edge and add: 18 + 19 + 20 + 19.
- 18 + 19 + 20 + 19 = 76 cm. Note the unit: cm, not square cm — a fence is a length, and a length never gets squared.
