Plot a figureFirst quadrant
Plot the points, join them in order and back to the first, then find the side.
Plotting points is more useful when the points make something. These free printable worksheets give the corners of a polygon in the first quadrant, an empty grid for each one and a side to measure, with an answer sheet that draws the finished figure.
If they get stuck

The answer key prints on a separate page.
Each question has three small jobs. Plot the corners in the order given, first number across and second number up. Join them, and join the last corner back to the first. Then find the length of the side that is named, which always has one coordinate in common so it is level or upright.
That last job is the real point of the sheet. Two points with the same second number are on a level line, and the distance between them is how far apart the first numbers are. A student can count the squares to check, and after a few questions most stop counting because the subtraction is quicker.
A(0, 2) B(6, 2) C(5, 8)
