What's on this sheet
10% of 200 is 20, and that single fact is a lever for most of the page. 20% is double it, 5% is half of it, 30% is three of them. A child who reaches for ten percent first can do most of these in their head, and one who reaches for a calculator learns nothing about the size of the answer.
Why this sheet works
The other route is the fraction: 25% is a quarter, 50% is a half, 75% is three quarters. Both routes are worth having, because which is faster depends entirely on the numbers — a quarter of 84 is easier as a fraction, and 30% of 90 is easier as three tens.
