What's on this sheet

Each problem prints the long-division house with a two-digit divisor outside and a four-digit dividend inside, and the steps are the same four a child already owns — divide, multiply, subtract, bring down. What changes is the first move: 16 into 43 is no longer a memorized fact but an estimate. Rounding 16 up to 20 gives a first guess, which the child multiplies back and adjusts up or down until it fits. That single act of estimating is the grade-five jump.

Why this sheet works

Every dividend equals divisor × quotient, so the quotient is always whole — 4352 ÷ 16 is exactly 272. Keeping the answers exact means a bad estimate shows itself at once: the subtraction goes negative or leaves more than the divisor, and the child knows to try again. Remainders are held back on purpose so that the estimating, not the leftover, is what the sheet trains.
