Early MathSkip counting by 10s up to 100
Count by 10s. Write the missing number in each row.
Every row counts by ten, and the sheet says so at the top. Five numbers in a run with one of the middle three missing, so a child counts on from the left and checks against the number on the right. Free printable sheets, with an answer key.

Counting by tens is where the tens digit becomes something a child can watch. 30, 40, 50 changes one digit and leaves the other alone, and saying that out loud is more use than any rule about it — it is place value arriving through the ear.
The runs start on a multiple of ten, which is what makes this skip counting rather than ten-more practice. 37, 47, 57 is the other exercise and it has its own sheet, because the question a child answers there is about the digit that changes rather than about the count.
