Daily math practice for 2nd grade

Five sheets of carrying, one a day, starting where only the ones column regroups and ending in the nineties.

What the 5 days look like

Addition with regrouping · 5 daily sheets plus an answer key and a story map — 7 sides in all.

  1. Monday Warm-up

    Monday carries once with small numbers — 17 + 4, 8 + 17.
  2. Tuesday Build

Tuesday brings both addends into the twenties and thirties.
  3. Wednesday Practice

    Wednesday puts a large number with a single digit: 56 + 9.
  4. Thursday Stretch

Thursday works across the middle of the hundred.
  5. Friday Challenge

    Friday runs to the nineties — 62 + 29, 67 + 27, 35 + 58.

Why a week beats one long page

Regrouping is second grade's landmark, and it is a procedure — which means it responds to spaced repetition in a way that understanding does not. Five short days beat one long page because the gap between them is where the procedure settles.

How to run it

The climb here is in the size of the numbers, not in whether they carry. Every problem in the pack regroups, deliberately: a mixed page lets a child coast on the ones that do not, and the case they avoid is exactly the case they need. What changes across the week is how much there is to hold — Monday's pairs carry once with small numbers, Friday's run into the nineties.

Same week, different skill

Other Grade 2 packs

Every one of these builds a pack that gets harder day by day. A single times table fills three days rather than five — ten facts, each allowed back once. Skills whose questions are all one weight are left out.
