What the 5 days look like
Multi-digit multiplication · 5 daily sheets plus an answer key — 6 sides in all.
Monday Warm-up
Monday's multipliers are round or small — 416 × 10, 298 × 20, 342 × 17.Tuesday Build
Tuesday moves into the thirties and forties.Wednesday Practice
Wednesday works the middle of the range.Thursday Stretch
Thursday brings both numbers up together.Friday Challenge
Friday is the nineties — 883 × 91, 987 × 96, 654 × 92.
Why a week beats one long page
Multi-digit multiplication is where arithmetic becomes a procedure with several steps, and where a child who is shaky on their tables finally cannot hide it. A week of it is the right shape: each page is short, and the days in between are when the algorithm stops needing to be re-derived.
How to run it
The climb is in the multiplier. Monday's are round or small — ×10, ×20, ×17 — so the partial products are easy to line up and the layout is the only new thing. By Friday every multiplier is in the nineties, where every partial product is a full piece of work and the columns have to be kept honest. A child who can do Friday's page has the algorithm.
Same week, different skill
Other Grade 4 packs
Every one of these builds a pack that gets harder day by day. A single times table fills three days rather than five — ten facts, each allowed back once. Skills whose questions are all one weight are left out.
