The answer key prints on a separate page.
The artwork keeps denominations visually distinct and labels their values, so the mathematics does not depend on recognizing a tiny portrait or knowing the color of a real banknote. Each problem combines a manageable number of pieces, and the child can count the largest values first before adding the smaller coins. Writing a dollar-and-cent total connects the physical money to decimal notation.
Mixed money is more realistic than a row containing only one coin, but the page stays at an easy starting level. The six groups vary their totals and combinations without asking for the fewest possible pieces or hiding a second optimization problem inside the counting task. A separate answer page prints the total beside every group for quick checking.
