What's on this chart
By grade five a child has to slide between fractions, decimals, and percents without stopping to work each conversion out, and the fastest way there is to know the common ones by heart. Seeing 1/2, 0.5, and 50% on one row makes the link obvious, and the rest of the table anchors the values that come up again and again.
Why this chart helps
The patterns do half the teaching. A percent is just hundredths, so 25% is 25 out of 100 is 1/4; a decimal is the fraction the place values already spell out. A child who notices that 1/10 is 0.1 is 10% has found the rule, not just the answer.
