What's on this chart
The color helps a child keep a row in view, but the geometry carries the meaning. Every row begins and ends at exactly the same place, every piece in a row has exactly the same width, and adjoining pieces share one cut rather than floating apart as separate cards. That is what makes two quarters visibly equal to one half.
Why this chart helps
Each denominator has its own soft hue while the labels and boundary lines remain. The wall therefore still works on a monochrome printer and does not ask a child to infer a fraction from color alone; color is only the guide that stops a finger slipping into the next row.
