Solve inequalities with multiple terms and graph the solutions.
Partial Solves a one-step inequality. Does not handle multiple terms.
Data Literacy
- 7.D1.1
Explain why percentages represent the distribution of a variable in large data sets.
Partial Reads relative frequency off a two-way table. Does not ask why percentages are used.
- 7.D1.5
Determine how adding or removing data changes a measure of central tendency.
Partial Computes the measures. Does not ask what happens when the data set changes.
- 7.D1.6
Analyse data in circle graphs and in misleading graphs.
Partial Reads a circle graph. Does not ask what makes a graph misleading.
Probability
Geometric and Spatial Reasoning
Measurement
- 7.E2.1
Describe the difference between volume and capacity and relate millilitres to cubic centimetres.
Partial Counts unit cubes for volume. Does not relate volume to capacity.
- 7.E2.2
Solve perimeter, area and volume problems that require converting units.
- 7.E2.3
Use the relationships between radius, diameter and circumference.
- 7.E2.5
Relate radius and diameter to the area of a circle and explain the formula.
- 7.E2.6
Represent cylinders as nets and find the surface area from the parts.
- 7.E2.7
Show that the volume of a prism or cylinder is the base area times the height.
Not a worksheet
These expectations have no sheet, for three different reasons. Listing them is the point — a catalog that showed only the hits would say this grade is fuller than it is.
Money and Finances (6) — a strand Math Picnic has never built for, the same decision as the Texas financial literacy strand. This is a gap, not a mismatch.
- 7.F1.1Compare exchange rates and convert between foreign currencies and Canadian dollars.
- 7.F1.2Identify reliable sources of information for planning towards a financial goal.
- 7.F1.3Create, track and adjust budgets for longer-term financial goals.
- 7.F1.4Identify the societal and personal factors that influence financial decisions.
- 7.F1.5Explain how interest rates affect savings, investments and the cost of borrowing.
- 7.F1.6Compare interest rates and fees across financial institutions.
Coding (2) — writing and running code. A printable cannot execute anything, and the execution is the expectation.
- 7.C3.1Write and execute efficient code involving defined counts and subprograms.
- 7.C3.2Read and alter existing code involving subprograms and control structures.
7.D1.2 — Collect qualitative and quantitative data and organise it.
Collecting the data — by observation, experiment, sampling or interview. That is the part of statistics that happens before there is anything on paper.
7.D1.3 — Select the graph best suited to a data set, including circle graphs.
Choosing which kind of display best suits a data set. Each of our data sheets prints one display and asks a question about it, which is the opposite skill.
7.D1.4 — Create an infographic using tables and circle graphs.
Building an infographic: several displays, chosen and arranged, with the reader's attention designed. A generated sheet asks a question and marks an answer.
7.E1.2 — Draw top, front, side and perspective views of objects using scales.
Drawing orthographic and perspective views. Our solids are drawn for the child to read, not to reproduce.
7.E2.4 — Construct circles given the radius, diameter or circumference.
Constructing a circle with compasses. A sheet can print the task and cannot mark the drawing.
